What this checker shows you

Most expiration checkers stop at the expiry date. That date is not when a domain becomes available, though. After it expires, a domain moves through a grace period, a redemption period, and pending delete before it finally drops. This tool reports the expiry date and estimates the real drop date for each domain, using the same per-TLD lifecycle logic that powers shadom.co monitoring.

Frequently asked questions

How can I check if a domain is expired?

Enter the domain above and check it. shadom.co queries live RDAP and WHOIS records and reports the expiration date plus the current lifecycle stage: active, grace period, redemption, pending delete, or available. If the domain has already expired, you will see how many days ago and what stage it is in now.

How do I check expiring domains in bulk?

Paste up to 10 domains, one per line, and check them all at once. Most free tools only take one domain at a time. This checker returns expiry dates, status, and predicted drop dates for the whole list together, so you can scan a watchlist in one pass instead of looking up each name by hand.

When does an expired domain actually become available?

Not on the expiry date. After expiration a domain goes through a grace period, then a roughly 30-day redemption period, then pending delete before it drops and anyone can register it. The exact timing depends on the TLD. The predicted drop date column estimates that final date for each domain you check.

What is the difference between the expiry date and the drop date?

The expiry date is when the current registration ends. The drop date is when the domain is deleted from the registry and becomes available to register again, which is weeks later after the grace, redemption, and pending-delete stages. Drop-catchers care about the drop date; owners renewing care about the expiry date.

Can I get an alert before a domain expires or drops?

Yes. Create a free shadom.co account and add the domains to your watchlist. You get an email, push, or webhook notification when a domain expires, changes registrar or nameservers, enters redemption, or reaches its drop window, so you never have to re-check by hand. The free plan covers up to 100 domains.
